The first Lady Eve

Radio call sign "G". During the first raid on Naples, a mission to attack the central M/Y on 17 July 1943, the 35 B-26's on this mission encountered heavy flak. They were attacked head on by 12 Me-109's and from the rear by nine Re-2001's. B-26 Gunners claimed three destroyed and one probable. Capt. Curtis A. Miller flying Lady Eve made the 350 mile trip back on one engine after the left engine was shot out over the target. With the hydraulics shot out, the plane crash landed in a field near Bizerte, Tunisia with none seriously hurt.

This was the longest distance flown in a Marauder on one engine
