On
a mission to the Heidelberg M/Y and railroad bridge
on 22 March 1945, this aircraft which was flying lead,
took tow direct flak burst over the target and
went down in a spin. Three chutes were spotted. Pilot
was 1st. Lt. Sylvester "Red" Goeke (KIA).
Also on board was Capt. James Carraher, the flight commander
and C.O. of the 442nd. (MACR 13232)
