On
a mission to raid an Me-262 aircraft dispersal area
at Schussenried on 18 April 1945, the plane was hit
by anti aircraft fire. The co-pilot, Lt. Paul Ramsey
managed to coax the damaged aircraft to an abandoned
French fighter strip at Nancy for successful crash landing
after the pilot 1st. Lt. Walter Barrett was injured
in the hand by flak. This was the last 320th BG aircraft
lost to enemy action. The aircraft flew over 100 missions.
